When thinking of an alternative to a workout routine, some people may say playing a sport, or doing household chores. Playing an instrument in general would never come to mind. An instrument is seen as more of a technical skill, requiring delicate control over one's body. But, there is one instrument which requires immense stamina, high body strength and delicate control. That instrument is drumming. This got me thinking and soon I came to my research question. "Can drumming replace your daily workout session, and can it impact your lifestyle choices due to it's impact on your physical and mental health?".

My final product for my personal project is an article, in which I will look at the physical and mental health impacts of drumming and a workout routine. I will use lots of research in my article to show the benefits and drawbacks of both drumming and a workout session. To test the research, I performed both drumming and a workout routine for 1 week each. I did them for 1 hour per day, and recorded my average heart rate, calories burned, etc. every 15 minutes. I used this in my article to back up the information I gathered from my research.
